Travelling to Sri Lanka
Enquiry: Our son has been asked to go on a school trip to Sri Lanka, a cricket tour next year has any one been to Sri Lanka with an implant? Will his dry box work in Sri Lanka? Will the humidity interfere with his implant? Any info would be gratefully received
Reply: It would be very interesting to hear other people’s experiences of travelling in such countries with an implant. I have spoken to a young man with an implant who spent six weeks in Ecuador. He says that he had no trouble with his implant during that trip. He says that he took the batteries out of his implant at night and put it in the dry box overnight. If the implant stopped working during the day he would do the same thing for a while. He also says that if the implant got damp, he just used a tissue to dry it. Other people’s experiences would be very welcome.
