If you are looking at getting an implant or you have one yourself, you might want to get in touch with the Dutch Bionic Ear Association. The mission of the Bionic Ear Association is to improve the quality of life of persons impacted by hearing loss through education, awareness, mentoring and support services relating to cochlear implants. The Bionic Ear Association has a team of clinicians and volunteers onboard, all of whom are dedicated to helping others to hear and be heard.     Barnplantorna dvd Barnplantorna in Sweden has produced a dvd entitled 'Cochlear Implants - A New Sense of Hearing'. It brings together accounts of implantation from parents, professionals, children and adolescents with cochlear implants. It is available with Spanish subtitles. This explains in an easy-going manner all the steps from the first meeting with the doctor and the family up until Kerry starts to hear.
